1. BIRD Maleo

 Bird Maleo or Maleo Senkawor (Macrocephalon Maleo) is a rare bird species including the protected Indonesian government, the population of endemic tropical forests are found only in Sulawesi island, particularly in Central Sulawesi, more specifically around the Banggai and Sigi District.
Based on the high level of susutnya forest habitat continues, the child mortality rate of birds is high, the population continues to shrink as well as the area where the bird was found to be very limited, Birds Maleo categorized as Endangered on the IUCN Red List. The species is listed in CITES Appendice I.
Maleo is a monogamous species, and its main food is the variety of grains, fruits, ants, beetles and various kinds of small animals.
Maleo bird traits are: medium size, length about 55 cm. Black feathers, yellow skin around the eye, iris brownish red, legs gray, orange beak and feather the underside whitish pink-colored. Above his head there is a loud horn or crest is black. Characteristics Maleo Males and females alike. Usually females are smaller and darker colored than the male birds.
What was unique Maleo bird is, the size of large eggs about 11 cm (8 times larger than the size of chicken eggs), and weighs 240gram to 270gram perbutir. Young birds can fly Maleo when newly hatched from their eggs. Maleo birds breed in a way telut-incubate the eggs in a heap of sand, are generally common along the coast of Cape Matop, Tolitoli, Central Sulawesi.
